Religion plays a major role in many people’s lives throughout the world. This is clearly shown in the devotion to Catholic religious practices in South America. When I was in Lima, Peru, I came upon a religious procession in honor of Our Lady of Carmel.
In the summer of 2018, I was blessed to have been given a significant amount of vacation time, so I decided to use the time wisely and travel back to South America since there was so much I wanted to see. My four-country journey through South America started in Peru.
I was very excited about visiting the Dominican Republic. The country holds the honor of being my very first Caribbean island nation to be visited.
Irazú Volcano is an absolute gem of Costa Rica. When the sky is clear, it is possible to get phenomenal views from the top and of the beautifully-colored water in the crater.
